2012 New Year's Resolutions

I can't believe it's been two weeks already. For better or for worse, every thing I've done has had the shadow of "This is the first time I've _______ since Simba died." Some things don't feel very different, and some things do. So, this is the first time I've written in my blog. And Wednesday will be the first time I'll go home.

So, I wanted to check in on my New Year's Resolutions, and maybe make a list for next year.

I did not play much piano, I still Reddited a little too much, I haven't (yet) written that essay, slacked on the Buddhism and fitness goals, and am not quite there on the slackline. Not a horrible success rate for resolutions, but I've no excuses for my failures, so I'll hang on to those for 2013.

I have no idea where I'll be for much of next year. My first big result will come at the end of January after a trip to Boston.

The spring will be a fun challenge. I think I did an okay job weaning myself away from a traditional college lifestyle, but I do want to make some rigid weekly goals for reading, writing, and physical wellness to keep a solid baseline of meaningful work.

I'm going to go bake cookies with a friend, so I'll cut this short here.
